Summer Learning: Your Money Moves Syllabus

It might be basic, it might be obvious, but — I love summer. Sue me!

Maybe it's that holdover from school days when summer meant exploring whatever excited you, not just what would get you a good grade or help you contribute to your major, but it’s like encoded into my DNA to enjoy learning 19x more during June-August than I do the other nine months of the year. (And as a perpetual learner, that’s saying something)

This summer, I'm sharing some focused syllabi you can create for yourself using resources from The North Node, our private community for intuitive entrepreneurs and creative people who want to build something meaningful in the world (probably differently than the average person on the internet tells you that you should).

Your Money Moves Prerequisites (AKA: The "Help, What the Hell is Going On With My Money" Syllabus)

If you're ready to dial in your relationship with money — whether you want to increase your income, feel better about your finances, or just stop having a mini panic attack every time you check your bank account — here's my recommended four-class progression. All of these classes are in the North Node, but I’m also tagging our guest experts in case you’d like to follow their individual work. And yes, there's a method to this madness:

1. Start Here: Trauma of Money Workshop (Yes, Money Trauma is a Real Thing)

Before diving into tactics, begin with

’s 90-minute deep dive into money trauma. I'd never heard anyone talk about how money can be genuinely traumatic until I found Chantel’s work, even though I knew that all things $MONEY$ were totally triggering for me.

This workshop will help you understand how money trauma shows up in every business decision you make — from how you pay yourself to how you pay other people. It's both affirming and game-changing to realize you're not just someone who’s "bad with money," you're dealing with real trauma responses. AND there’s something you can do about that if you want to change it! V empowering.

2. Money as Medicine Classes (Parts 1 & 2)

Next, dive into Pilar Lesko’s approach to money as an entity, spirit, and honestly, kind of a god. Pilar talks about the magic and medicine of money in the most out-of-this-world-way. These classes balance beautifully with the trauma work — where Chantel anchors you intellectually, Pilar helps you understand money's energetic side without making you want to float away into the ethers. It's the perfect combo of "money has feelings" and "but also you need to pay rent."

Even if you’re not into the idea of Money as a goddess, I think that even beginning to relate to money in a non-traditional way shifts something in the body and mind.

3. The Money Shadow Work 5-Day Challenge (by yours truly!)

This is the class our members cite most often as absolutely life-changing. You'll dig into your relationship with wealth, worth, and — brace yourself — your secret judgments about how other people spend their money. (Spoiler alert: You probably have more opinions about other people's financial choices than you realize, and it's blocking your own abundance.)

The insights that emerge often lead to immediate shifts in how you earn and relate to money. Fair warning: there might be some uncomfortable realizations, but that's where the magic happens, baby.

4. Circular Sales Calendar (The "Holy Shit, I Actually Have Options" Revelation)

Finally, learn to map out your year strategically. This isn't about creating impossible goals that make you want to hide under a blanket — it's about working backward from what you actually want to earn and discovering (often with actual happy tears) that there are way more paths to your financial goals than you realized. Every single time I teach this class, at least 50% of people have that moment where they go "Wait, I don't have to make the same amount every month?!" Nope, you don't! Most small businesses have months that look totally different from each other, and that's not just okay — it can be strategic.

Why this Order of Operations Matters

You can't just jump to "make me rich" without first understanding why your brain short-circuits every time you try to price your services. I mean, you can try, but it probably won’t end up the way you want it to.

When you attempt to build a sales calendar without examining your money story first, you end up with goals that feel either completely impossible ("I'm going to make $50K next month somehow!") or weirdly disconnected from what you actually want ("I guess I should want to make six figures because that's what everyone on Instagram says?").

After working through these foundations, most people discover they have far more options for making what they want than they ever expected. You start to see things differently — opportunities where you previously saw problems or dead ends. It’s very cool!

Additional Resources (For When You Want to Keep Going Down the Rabbit Hole)

To supplement these classes, I highly recommend reading The Psychology of Money (solid 10 out of 10, would recommend to my worst enemy) and Overcoming Under Earning by Barbara Stanny. The latter completely changed my life and is basically a spiritual text disguised as a business book; in fact, we recorded a SPIRITUAL TEXT episode all about it! You'll see its concepts woven throughout everything I teach about money, probably because I reference it approximately 847 times per class.

The doors to the North Node, where you can find all these luscious classes, are now open! If you're ready to dive into intuitive business education that marries the mystical with the practical, this is your chance to join hundreds of creative entrepreneurs in our favorite corner of the internet. Plus, you'll get two full quarters to dive into the content, which honestly feels like the perfect amount of time to completely transform your relationship with money and maybe cry some happy tears in the process. Check it out here.
