Friday Philosophies: Our 13 Rules for Squiggly Brained Witches (pt.1)

Welcome to another edition of Friday Philosophies!

Each Friday we consider a different mental model, investigate our favorite frameworks, and talk about the creative habits and rituals of people we admire.

Today is part one of a two-part series, where we’ll be sharing the manifesto and principles we created and try to live by as a team.

What we mean by manifesto is our 13 Rules for Squiggly Brained Witches.

In this episode, we explore …

  • The first seven fundamental principles that have transformed how we navigate working together, growing the business, maintaining a dialogue with our community, and actualizing through our work

Part One of Our 3 Rules for Squiggly Brained Witches (1-7)

    1. SCRAPPINESS IS NEXT TO WITCHINESS.

    2. BE INTENTIONAL WITH YOUR ENERGY. EVERYTHING HAS A SEASON. ZERO REDUNDANCIES, ZERO WASTE.

    3. WHEN IN DOUBT, SLEEP ON IT. LET IT BREW.

    4. CHANGING YOUR MIND ISN’T FLAKEY.

    5. MAKE IT EASY FOR PEOPLE TO SAY YES.

    6. HINT: OPTIMISTIC SKEPTICISM. TRY ANYTHING TWICE WITH ZERO EXPECTATIONS.

    7. EVERYTHING IS NEUTRAL INFORMATION. YOU GET TO CHOOSE WHAT TO DO WITH IT AND WHAT IT MEANS. REMAIN OPEN TO FEEDBACK

  • Whether explicitly defined or not, our manifestos, shape our personal beliefs and hold a great deal of power in shaping how we live out our day-today lives, and therefore our dreams

  • We discuss how we came to define each rule, and how we live out these principles as we work together as a team, and pursue our scared work
